El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve

El Triunfo protects one of Central America’s last remaining cloud forests as well as an important tropical rainforest along the Pacific coast. The reserve is the last existing refuge for dozens of rare, endemic and endangered species -- with 392 birds, 55 reptiles, 112 mammals and more than 2,000 plant species recorded.

Selva El Ocote Biosphere Reserve

The 100 thousand hectares that form the Selva El Ocote Biosphere Reserve protects the second remaining continguous tropical forest in Mesoamerica and one of the most important regions for biological diversity in all of Mexico. Twenty-four species of amphibians, 58 reptiles, 460 birds and 104 mammals have been recorded in the reserve.

La Sepultura Biosphere Reserve encompasses a critical lowland deciduous forest in Mexico, as well as relict vegetation from the mountain cloud, shrub and pine savanna forests. Thirty-nine species of amphibians, 78 reptiles, 304 birds and 97 mammals have been recorded
